Tingyi S. Lin

Dr. Tingyi S. Lin is a seasoned information designer, visual storyteller, and strategic planner. Currently serving as a faculty member at the National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, where she imparts her expertise through courses in new media, strategic visual planning, and visual information design. Tingyi also holds the position of adjunct associate professor at the National Taiwan University. Additionally, she contributes to the field as a board member of the International Committee on Design History and Studies and the Taiwan Society of Basic Design and Art. As a co-founder of the Design Network for Emergency Management and an active member of its Executive Board. Tingyi demonstrates a commitment to leveraging design for critical societal needs. Her accolades in visual storytelling, graphic creation, and design research underscore her dedication to excellence.

During her tenure as a visiting scholar at the University of Chicago from 2017 to 2018, supported by the TUSA Fellowship, Tingyi delved into cutting-edge technology and health promotion visual translation upon her return to Taiwan. She firmly believes in the symbiotic relationship between design research and creative practice, utilizing each to reinforce the other's efficacy.

Dr. Lin's dedication to design research extends across fundamental design principles, strategic visual planning, user-centered design, and information design. Her scholarly contributions manifest in research papers, international conference presentations, and engaging lectures and speeches delivered worldwide, including in the USA, Japan, China, Austria, and Germany. Through her work, Dr. Lin continues to shape the fields of art, design, and human learning with her innovative visual language and information design expertise.
