Chiara Fioravanti

Chiara Fioravanti is a researcher at the National Research Council of Italy (Institute of Legal Informatics and Judicial Systems), IGSG/CNR

My academic background is in Science of Communication (University of Siena) and I hold a PhD in Information Society (Information Engineering, University of Florence).

My area of research is the Dissemination of Legal Information with a special focus on the Communication of the law and public information to vulnerable audiences. My research interests also include Plain Language and Easy Language (I’m part of ELIN – Easy Language International Network), Visual Communication, Intercultural Communication, and the Human centered design approach in the legal field (Legal Design).

My experience is mainly in the field of immigration, as I've been working for many years on projects funded by the EU Fund for Asylum, Migration and Integration (AMIF), aimed at improving public communication for the migrant target audience through the Web. In this context, I have experimented with methods and strategies to improve the communication of administrative procedures and information.

I am in charge of managing and developing PAeSI Web portal, an Italian institutional Web portal on immigration regulations and procedures, and I participate in national and international projects on legal communication.
